This food was so comforting after a long day of driving and siteseeing. I had the ropa vieja with mixed rice and fried plantain and sangria to drink with Cuban flan for desert. The ropa vieja settled over me like a warm, comfy blanket. And frankly, the Cuban flan was a religious experience in its own right. 10/10 would eat here again.

When I see the word Latin I always wondered if one day the place would something that wasn't Cuban. Groving up in Miami, Florida I see Latin it must be Cuban. So moving to Key Largo leaving behind all the Cuban Places behind was just something I had to adjust to. I can cook and Cuban is what I learned. It sucks not being able to say I want Vaca Frita or with the same Flank steak Ropa Vieja and just order it from 1 of 1000 of mommy y papi Café/cafetería/bakery in most corners where I grew up. I mentioned these 2 plates because they have a longer processes than other foods. Leave a Cuban to refrie things. I was so happy to see this place. I know there is Cubans everywhere but Cuban food. To my very delighted stomach we have found a few on the island. I guess Cuban is comfort in my eyes. They have Cuban bread like all the Bodegas in every corne where I cane from. So if you don't want to leave the island for some Cuban Comfort this may just hit the spot. I have tried La medianoche, pan con bistec. I just can't get over the Bread. Una libra de pan. Not really a pound or it doesn't feel like one. hmm. I should research flauta and libra because I am wondering which is it. I mean the correct way. I will say I haven't tried everything and I really try never to eat my favorites because I don't want to be disappointed. I have not been disappointed by this place or it's pan con bistec. So make a stop at Danny's Latin (Latin is for Cuban in this case) Maybe one day Cubans may name there Cuban food Cuban. But until then Latin can be anything. Just keep that in mind

We had the pleasure of enjoying the beef empanadas, lechón asado, and Cubano sandwiches — all of which were exceptional. The flavors were perfectly balanced, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully prepared. The coffee was equally delightful — rich, flavorful, and refreshing. The dining space was spacious, comfortable, and inviting, providing the perfect atmosphere to enjoy our meal. Service was attentive, courteous, and professional throughout. A truly wonderful experience from start to finish — highly recommended.

Went for a snack. Hard in the Keys to find vegan food. Dennys has rice, beans and most importantly maduros. They also have a salad and tostones for the vegans.

Found the perfect spot at Denny's Latin Cafe in Key Largo! This unassuming gem combines traditional diner favorites with authentic Latin flavors for a truly unique Florida Keys experience. Their Cuban sandwich was absolutely phenomenal - perfectly pressed with the ideal balance of roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard on authentic Cuban bread that was crispy outside and soft inside. The Cuban coffee was strong and delicious - exactly what we needed after an early morning on the water. The service was quick and friendly with staff that made us feel like locals rather than tourists. The casual, no-frills atmosphere perfectly captures the laid-back Key Largo vibe. If you're looking for an authentic, affordable breakfast or lunch spot away from the tourist traps, Denny's Latin Cafe delivers big flavors without the big price tag - especially with that must-try Cuban sandwich!

We had an excellent lunch at Denny’s Latin Cafe today and the service was spot on. We were a big group but they timed our meals perfectly. I was able try multiple dishes as we all swapped and shared. Fried pork chunks, fried grouper, shrimp enchilados, vaca frita, steak sandwich, Caesar salad all were great. Definitely worth a stop. Make sure you get the rum cake for dessert!
